Cynthia was from the Stoney Nation, living at Morley, Alberta. Jay remembers Cynthia as being a very pretty thirteen-year-old girl, the daughter of Annie and Bill Wesley. She was a shy jingle dress dancer who enjoyed attending pow-wows, but she did not want to talk to Jay.
Cynthia was also an exceptional barrel racer in her youth. As an adult she became the manager of housekeeping at the Stoney Nakoda Lodge. She was the mother of six children and excelled at Native beadwork. Her family name was “Thin,” and she will always be remembered for contributing to strong traditional family life.
“Cynthia did not talk to me! She just smiled and nodded her head.“
