More than 3,500 of these coaches were made at the Abbot Downing workshop in Concord, New Hampshire. They were made almost entirely by hand, were very reliable and durable. They weighted 2,500 pounds. The coach carried nine passengers inside and as many more crowded on top. The front and rear boots could haul a half–ton of baggage. Jay used the Remington Carriage Collection in Cardston, Alberta as a source for accuracy.
